SENIOR BUILDING TECHNOLOGIST
EXPERIENCE
Rakesh Peer is a forensic construction consultant and has experience in over 100 defect litigation cases since 1987. He directs the Investigation Division of CMA Consulting, which specializes in common interest developments and the investigation and analysis of construction defects. He authors technical reports and documents identifying construction defects, investigation of root cause and provides corrective action. Mr. Peer has offered expert witness and deposition testimony for conflict resolution in several construction litigation cases.
Mr. Peer has come through the ranks in construction experience. His experience includes multi-family housing and industrial facilities. His responsibilities have included site planning, engineering studies, design review, project estimating and scheduling, bid evaluation, on-site inspection, documentation, and client communication.
He has conducted performance reviews of sub-contractors, participated in project planning strategies, and established and implemented work methods and execution procedures for homeowner reconstruction projects. Mr. Peer previously managed the Reserve Studies Division of CMA where he conducted Reserve Component Studies and Cost Feasibility Studies. He has performed cost estimates and prepare cash flow charts and financial forecasts required to fund common area building components for hundreds of Homeowners Associations. While working on his MBA he was the Graduate Assistant to the Dean of the School of Business at San Jose State University. There he taught undergraduate courses in quantitative business/statistical analysis, published forecast reports, and analysis. His background and experience has been instrumental in the preparation, documentation and delivery of forensic evidence.
EDUCATION
Mr. Peer has a Masters in Business Administration from San Jose State University. His undergraduate work culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kashmir, India.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS
His professional training and certification include Certified Construction Cost Estimator (ASPE), Certified Building Inspector (ICBO). Mr. Peer is a licensed engineer in the State of California with a pending license in Nevada. Mr. Peer is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute, American Society of Civil Engineering, and the American Society of Professional Estimators. He is a previous member of the Association of MBA Executives, Inc., and the Construction Management Association of America.
