JOB TITLE: LEVEL II FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR
LOCATION: Livermore, CA
DEPARTMENT: Investigations
POSITION REPORTS TO: Level III and Case Managers
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare Investigative and Defect Analysis Reports.
- Review specifications, building plans and city records and prepare schedule of inspections.
- On-site inspections of field projects for plan deviations, non-code compliance, construction defects.
- Take on-site field project photographs of non-code compliant, construction defects.
- Transcribe field notes into report format, combining field documentation and researched materials.
- Research defects by utilizing code books (UBC, UPC, UMC) and city records.
- Prepare cost estimate figures for repair/replacement components.
- Coordinate all materials (report, photos, blueprints, evidence) for expert testimony.
- Expert Conference and Settlement Conference Attendance.
PLACE OF WORK:
- The
investigator will work at locations
chosen by the investigator's supervisor. This work may require
travel but will be provided
primarily at CMA's Livermore, CA Office.
TIME DEVOTED TO WORK:
- The
investigator will work five (5) days
per week, Monday through Friday at
the direction of his/her supervisor. However, CMA will
expect him/her to devote such number
of hours as is necessary to meet noticed
deadlines, required delivery dates and time restrictions
to achieve successful completion of
CMA's objectives. The investigators'
work shall be subject to supervisory inspection and review to
secure satisfactory completion of such
work in accordance with CMA's plans,
commitments and deadlines. A principal indicator
of successful performance in this position
is to consistently log forty (40) Client
Billable Hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 20 years experience as a City Inspector, Plan Checker
and/or 3 5 ICBO Certificates
- Building inspector
- Plumbing
- Mechanical
- Combination dwelling
- Class
B Contractor's License and/or Architectural License
and/or Engineering License
